OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus 13 for weeks now, and we’re expecting it to be one of the best Android phones in 2025. Now, the phone has officially launched in China.
The new phone’s design has been tweaked compared to the OnePlus 12. The alert slider is still present, but we’ve now got flat edges and a circular rear camera housing. The biggest design-related upgrade has to be the IP68 and IP69 ratings, making this the first water-resistant OnePlus flagship since the carrier version of the OnePlus 10 Pro. We hope this IP rating applies to both carrier and unlocked variants.

OnePlus 13 core specs
The OnePlus 13 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and OnePlus says the chip and Color OS 15 deliver the smoothest experience on Android. That’s a lofty claim, so we’re keen to get our hands on the device to see if there’s any truth to it.
We were happy with the OnePlus 12’s endurance, bringing a 5,400mAh battery that’s bigger than the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The OnePlus 13 ups the ante once again thanks to a 6,000mAh silicon battery, with OnePlus claiming 1.96 days of use. Once you’ve run out of juice, you can get back up to speed with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. We’re guessing that the phone will top out at 80W when it lands in the US.
The OnePlus 13 also offers magnetic wireless charging via optional cases. OnePlus is offering magnetic accessories like a 100W power bank, a slim power bank, and an actively cooled 50W wireless charger.
OnePlus is also bringing an upgraded display experience this time. The company claims that the 120Hz OLED screen (QHD+) has more accurate colors and better visibility under the sun, as well as touch input via gloves. OnePlus previously stated that the display has a local high refresh rate feature that allows for different areas of the screen to run at a different refresh rate. That theoretically means a YouTube video could run at 30Hz or 60Hz while the comments section runs at a lower refresh rate to increase battery life.
OnePlus 13: What else does it have?
Photography has long been a OnePlus weakness, but we thought the OnePlus 12 offered a notably improved experience. The OnePlus 13 brings more of the same as far as camera hardware is concerned, featuring the 50MP LYT-808 main camera that was previously seen on the OnePlus 12. However, OnePlus has swapped out the predecessor’s 64MP 3x camera and 48MP ultrawide camera for a 50MP 3x shooter (f/2.6, 1/1.95-inch, OIS) and a 50MP ultrawide camera (120-degree field-of-view).
These rear cameras offer Hasselblad branding and 4K/60fps Dolby Vision video capture. The phone also inherits OPPO Find X8 series features like higher-quality Live Photos, the ability to freeze subjects in motion without using a dedicated snapshot/sport mode, and a so-called soft-light portrait mode.
The new phone is powered by the Color OS 15 skin atop Android 15, although OnePlus will almost certainly switch to the Oxygen OS 15 software in global markets. There’s no word on the device’s update policy, but its predecessor offered four major OS updates and five years of security patches.
Other OnePlus 13 features include an IR blaster, long-range Bluetooth (up to a claimed 400 meters), an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor by Goodix, USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds, and Wi-Fi 7.
OnePlus 13 pricing and availability
The new flagship phone is only available in China right now, starting at 4,499 yuan (~$632) for the 12GB/256GB model all the way to 5,999 yuan (~$843) for the 24GB/1TB variant. By contrast, the OnePlus 12 had a starting price of 4,299 yuan (~$604) for the 12GB/256GB model.
Expect to find the OnePlus 13 in Black, Blue, and White color schemes. The Black model offers a so-called ebony wood grain glass rear cover, the Blue variant brings a velvet leather finish, and the White color is available with a silk glass cover.
OnePlus hasn’t confirmed global availability just yet, but history tells us that we might have to wait a few weeks to a couple of months for a wider release.
