How Chris Palmer SEO Stole My Content

Last updated on August 3, 2022.

I am really not into negativity but this really crossed all lines for me…

I thought I would give you more context to this story and I hope it will make you more careful because the chances are your great content is being stolen and resold by someone like Chris Palmer right now.

Chris Palmer SEO stole my content about SEO audits

My original work about SEO audits that was stolen by Chris Palmer

If you have been following me for some time, you know that SEO audits are my specialty. Most of the content I share is about SEO audits.

Over the last two years, I have created a lot of in-depth tutorials about technical SEO and – specifically – SEO auditing.

  • My most in-depth piece about SEO audits is the technical SEO audit guide which has 188+ steps and more than 22K words. Published for the first time in 2020.
  • My content is 100% free and is available on my blog. My blog does not have ads and you can access all of its content (including screenshots) for free.
  • If you become my SEO newsletter subscriber, you can also get my SEO audit templates for free for your own use.
  • For some time I had a paid membership module (SEOSLY Pro) but I am now publishing all this content for free on my new YouTube channel.

I earn money from SEO consulting, SEO mentoring, and SEO audits but I share my knowledge for free.

I am addicted to learning about SEO and…

I was looking for a new book about SEO on Amazon and I found a book by Chris Palmer who stole my content and is reselling it as his own.

Chris Palmer SEO stole my free content & is reselling it as his own

Here is what Chris Palmer did. I still have not analyzed all of his activity but I am pretty sure I am not the only person whose work he stole:

1. He stole my entire idea/structure of the technical SEO audit checklist guide.

2. He copied most of my content and added some AI-written garbage to make his book pass the Amazon copy infringement check.

3. He promoted “his” book live on YouTube in April 2022.

4. He is selling “his” book on Amazon in digital and paper versions for $2.09 and $12.99.

5. He is also selling and promoting his book on his website and stating that he holds the legal copyrights to the book.

And the funny thing is he had not stated that before I discovered what he did:

Please note that you can get this content for free and in a way better version (without AI-written garbage and with original screenshots) from my website.

My videos & Twitter threads documenting how Chris Palmer stole my content

I recorded these videos showing you what happened.

The first video (sorry about the low volume but I wasn’t really preparing myself to shoot this video):

And a follow-up with more examples (and better audio):

Here is the most recent update and my timeline of things:

And here are my LAST words on this topic:

How you can help & why I wrote this

I know that I won’t change the world with this post but I just want to let others know. My goal is not to do the public shaming of Chris Plamer but to simply show how your months of work can be used.

I don’t care about the money he earned from this book or the money I could have earned if I were to publish this book (but maybe I will in the future?) but I just couldn’t sit silent.

Can I ask you to become a follower of my free content instead and subscribe to my free weekly SEO newsletter? That would mean the world to me.

Thank you all for your immense support. You are really giving my depleted motivation a serious boost. Love you!

I will probably remove any negative content soon as it’s not my purpose to do public shaming of anyone. I just wanted to speak out and tell my story of what happened.

I am done with this. It’s time to move on.
