Former President Trump gets up to $1 million in NFT sales | coindesk JAPAN

Former President Trump made between $100,000 and $1 million from NFT sales, according to documents from the U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE). The documents were shared earlier by the ethics watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).
The 45,000 NFT cards featuring Mr. Trump went on sale in December 2022 and sold out in a day. Prices have risen in recent weeks following news that he had filed an arraignment in New York.
According to documents filed on April 14, Trump has taken on “manager, president, secretary and treasurer” positions at CIC Digital LLC and CIC Ventures LLC, earning CIC Digital LLC $100,011. ~$1 million “NFT” listed. Also, CIC Ventures LLC has earned over $5 million for speaking.
According to NFT data aggregator CryptoSlam, Trump’s NFT project has generated more than $19 million in sales since it went on sale. However, over the past week, the number of active wallets holding this NFT has fallen by 13% to 208.
CryptoSlam
Data from NFT marketplace OpenSea shows that 65% of Trump NFT holders only have one NFT, while 23% have two or three.
Multiple wallets hold more than 100 coins, and another 1000 are kept in the Gnosis Safe Wallet, a smart contract wallet that is not open to the public and requires approval from multiple users to move assets.
It’s not entirely clear why Trump was able to amass up to $1 million in his NFT collection. The official site says that the NFT’s proceeds will not be used directly for re-election campaigns, but it is still clear that Trump personally gets a portion of the proceeds.
OpenSea says there is a 10% royalty on secondary sales of this NFT. Currently, the most expensive one is 10 ETH, or about $ 20,000 (about 2.7 million yen). Most are around 0.3 ETH (about $630, about 84,000).
